About...
Hello, my name is Silash Ruparell. This is my personal homepage. A little venture to enable me to inter-connect with the world around me a bit more.
My professional activities are detailed on my LinkedIn and Google+ profiles.
And outside of work ? The London and international arts and culture scene. Played many sports over the years, and currently settled on football, snooker (well, sadly mostly pool nowadays), table tennis, fitness and yoga. Literature, philosophy (eastern and western), music, women's fashion, and games of strategy.
This website contains reviews, in blog format, of a small selection of the books that I read. I also run a series entitled Lessons from Fiction, as I very much believe that fiction, arguably more so than non-fiction, has the capacity to help in our personal and professional development and understanding. Additionally, for those who are a little time-challenged, I have now launched a section called Slideshow Reviews which summarises the review in slideshow format.
You can subscribe to receive the reviews via email. My libraries are also maintained on Goodreads, on Google, and at The Reading Room, where you can get more information about the books profiled here and see other reviews.
Reading has been a source of relaxation, pleasure and inspiration for me for as long as I can remember. I will try to include content from as wide a range as possible, and hope to cover works which are fictional, non-fictional, cultural, and busines-related. So whether you are an avid reader, an erstwhile bystander, or somewhere in between, I hope that you will find something here that will lead you on a similar inspirational journey.
And as I become braver about publishing, maybe more thoughts and blogs in some of the other fields where I might be able to make a valuable contribution. I also hope to be able to share details of some other interesting projects that I am working on.
I welcome all feedback and comments via the blog, or privately via the contact page. Within the bounds of common decency of course.
And last but not least, you can follow me on Twitter.
Enjoy.
